Get Rid Of Windows Mold
If you find yourself saying “random mold has begun to appear on our windows. I want to get rid of it. What can I do?” then we are here to help. There are actually a couple of things you can do to prevent and remove mold from your windows!
Vinegar, baking soda and ammonia are effective for getting rid of the mold. Below are some guidelines on how you can prevent the build-up of molds. Prevention is better than cure. You need to pour 100% white vinegar into a spray bottle, then wet the area where the mold is growing on your window pane. Let it stand 10 minutes so it can work its way through all the nooks and crannies where the mold may be hiding. While waiting for 10 minutes, knock down or scrape off a thin layer of the black mold if you can see it so that the vinegar will have a better chance of killing it. This is most effective when applied to a wet surface and allowed to penetrate the affected area, so spray your window with water before applying vinegar or any other cleaning solution. After 10 minutes wash away with tap water then wipe dry.
Use a baking soda and ammonia mix
If you don’t have white vinegar on hand, then use a baking soda and ammonia mix instead, as they’re just as effective but not as strong as white vinegar. The procedure is pretty much the same, only you need about 1 teaspoon of baking soda per cup of water in a spray bottle. Continue from step 3 above by spraying down your window with water first before applying this mixture on the affected area. Let it stand for 10 minutes then wash away with tap water.
Mold, mildew, and lichen are all different types of fungus that feed on organic material such as leaves, paper and wood found in your home. The symptoms associated with mold infestation are discoloration of porous materials like plaster, drywall and wood; and an unpleasant musty odor causing asthma symptoms or other health problems – especially to people who have allergic reactions to mold. To prevent the spread of mold, it’s best to clean mold off right away before it starts spreading throughout your house. Some surfaces might be hard to reach like window panes so cleaning them regularly would greatly help keep molds at bay, causing you minimal problems over time.
Prevent the build-up of molds by using natural products
Below are some guidelines on how you can prevent the build-up of molds by using natural products that will not cause harm to your family or pets. Follow these simple steps:
– Thoroughly clean all porous materials, especially wood, with soap and water then use a wire brush.
– If you have allergies, asthma or breathing problems, wearing a mask will reduce the amount of spores you breath in.
– Turning on the exhaust fans can remove mold spores from the air so having one installed in your kitchen stove will greatly help.
– Vacuum often, especially in common areas like living rooms and bedrooms with carpet and bedding, and dust it with a HEPA filter.
– Remove excess moisture that causes mildew by fixing leaky water pipes or condensation which is ideal for bathrooms and preferably ventilate shower rooms after each use.
If you follow these steps, you should be able to successfully remove and prevent further mold from growing on your windows.
